About Us
Ridaught Daylily Farm
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your daylily gardening
experience for so many years. Like many people in their seventies, we
are reducing our workload. You will notice that we have fewer daylilies
offered for sale this year and we have reduced the length of our
shipping season.
Thank you for last year’s orders. The plants look great this year and
they are growing well. We are grateful for the compliments you continue
to give on the plants and the service. You make our business successful
and we appreciate each one of you. We work hard in order to send you the
very best plants possible. However, if for some reason there is a
problem, please let us know so we can correct it.
We are please to announce that our grandson, Matthew Ridaught George, is
opening a daylily business in nearby Trenton, Florida. The name of his
business is Daylilies Buy George. His web site is dayliliesbuygeorge.com
and he will be accepting orders in February for shipment this spring.
Matthew’s business is a high school Future Farmer’s of America (FFA)
project. He and his parents hope the project will become a permanent and
profitable business. Matthew has been learning from his grandparents for
years and we are pleased that he wants to do this. He is going through
all of the licensing and inspection processes needed to begin a business
in Florida. We hope you will consider ordering some daylilies from him.
Ridaught Daylily Farm is located in Alachua, Florida on five acres of
rich, North Florida land. Visitors from garden clubs, daylily societies,
church groups and bus tours are welcomed into the garden each year.
Daylily rust is under control in our garden. Spraying is done on a
routine basis. Both a systemic and a contact fungicide are used. We will
not ship any plants that show symptoms of rust or have had rust in the
recent past. Every precaution is taken in order to send disease free
plants. Ridaught Daylily Farm, Inc. cannot guarantee against daylily
rust because it is air borne and can be introduced not only by the new
plants that you bring into your garden but also in many other ways.
The web catalog is filled with color pictures, however the printed
version does not have pictures and is a list of cultivars with
descriptions and prices. We post sold out’s, new cultivars and pricing
specials on the web as they occur. The website contains the most up to
date information about availability. There are some short supply
varieties listed on the web catalog that are not included in the printed
list. The best way to place orders is via the website. E-mail is
wonderful. We can respond to you quickly for confirmations and changes,
so be sure to include your e-mail address if available.
We no longer accept credit cards and request that payment be made by
check or money order and included with a printed copy of your order.
As you can see our prices are very competitive so many of the daylilies
are in short supply. We will hold an order for up to 3 weeks without
payment. After 3 weeks we may release the plants to other customers. In
order to prevent delays in delivery, payment must be received no later
than two weeks prior to the scheduled shipping date.
Come visit us. Peak bloom season is mid May with blooms from mid to late
April until September. A call may be in order to make sure we are in the
garden.
Happy Gardening!
